Why paperwork is half the door

A fire door with no evidence trail is a liability even when the door itself is sound. Under the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, responsible persons must be able to show that fire doors are suitable and maintained, and that means records, not recollections.

Our certification service closes that gap. After installation or remedial works, and for doors that pass inspection, we compile the documentation that proves each door's status: what it is, what was done to it, by whom, with which components, and when.

Work is carried out under third-party accreditation, and every pack is built to stand up to scrutiny from fire risk assessors, auditors and building safety regulators.

The law expects records, not reassurance

Since the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 came into force, routine fire door checks in residential buildings above 11 metres must be carried out and recorded. A certificate pack is how those records stand up to scrutiny.

Certification FAQs

Anyone who carries the responsible person duty: block managers, landlords, housing associations, school and care estate teams, and employers. If an auditor, insurer or fire authority can ask about your doors, you need the paperwork that answers them.

We can inspect them and document their condition and certification evidence honestly. Where a door has no traceable rating, no reputable company can conjure one; we will tell you whether remediation with evidence or replacement is the compliant route.

The certificate records the door's condition at sign-off. Compliance is then maintained by the routine check cycle: quarterly and annual checks keep the record live, and each cycle adds to the same register.

Doorsets and components are evidenced against their test standards, BS 476 or EN 1634, and works are carried out under the UKFDT approval scheme. The pack shows the chain from tested product to installed door.
